Dentist Profiles
Robyn Hughes I returned to England in 1989 having lived and worked in the West Indies with Pete. He and I set up Cheriton Dental Practice, which has changed over time to become a large modern practice with great staff. Nobody likes visiting the dentist, but it is much harder for some people than others. These in particular are the patients I find rewarding to treat and to help. If you can take the first step and make the appointment I will do my utmost to overcome your concerns and get you through any treatment you need. I want visits to be as positive as possible and to work with patients to provide treatment they are comfortable with. I am conservative in my treatment, as I often find that less dentistry can be the best dentistry for some people. There are many practices that provide dental treatment, but although it sounds cheesy, I want to provide dental care. Outside of my work my life revolves around my family, Sarah and my two boys who are all they should be and some things they probably shouldn't. I still haven't the sense to give up rock climbing, though my trips are less frequent and in the past few years I've got into mountain biking, which seems to be only slightly less hazardous. (Robyn qualified at Guy's hospital in December 1983) GDC Registration Number: 58544 Gavin Quigley Born and bred in Bournemouth, I returned here from Birmingham University after qualifying in 1988, and have worked in Bournemouth ever since. I became a partner at Cheriton in 2008, bringing the core of my staff with me to join an already well established team. With an excellent manageress dealing with the ever increasing paperwork, I am able to spend more of my time on patient care than I could when I had my own practice. I am proud to be a Denplan Excel accredited dentist and have introduced to Cheriton Dental Practice my own patient preventitive care scheme, ensuring patients receive quality care at discounted prices. Our under 18s can join this scheme too, and benefit from the preventative approach it offers. I enjoy all aspects of Dentistry, and always consider myself to put the needs of the patient first. My spare time is devoted to my wife, Caroline, and my 2 boys, Robert and Matthew. GDC Registration Number: 63827. Angela O'Regan I qualified with Honours from the London Hospital Medical College in 1989. Since qualification I have primarily worked in general practice in the Bournemouth and Poole area but have also gained experience from working in the hospital service in London and the Community Dental Service performing minor oral surgery procedures and caring for medically compromised, high risk and dental phobic patients. In addition to this I completed a full-time Masters degree in Oral Pathology. I enjoy all aspects of family dentistry and am particularly interested in improving smiles with minimally invasive cosmetic techniques. I enjoy the challenge of continually updating my knowledge and embracing new technologies and complimentary treatments, including Inman Aligners and acupuncture. Most rewarding of all is building long lasting relationships with my patients and striving to provide excellent clinical care in a relaxed, warm and friendly environment. I am married with three teenage children and enjoy all the chaos that goes with it. GDC Registration Number: 65033

Key highlights of my time studying included organisation of a dental brigade to Ghana in 2014, where we carried out preventive, restorative and emergency dental treatment in a remote community who previously never had access to dental care.
